This feels so aligned. Digital puttering is basically the intention behind and the reason I started my Substack, Off Season (to create just for the joy of it and play in the margins of motherhood while on maternity leave). Now I have a name for it, sweet! And side note: all of the old school references you mentioned hit me with a wave of nostalgia —MSN messenger, MySpace, SIMS! Those were the days!

Digital puttering is exactly what I've been searching for! Space to play, have fun, relax, be creative... for the sheer joy of it... with nowhere to publish it and no one to show (or sell) it to. HEAVEN! I'm in!
Notion!! Do you have a template you use on there? I always want to get into using Notion but then get so overwhelmed by all of it. I feel like especially for digital puttering it would be the perfect platform.
It truly is!!! I've created lots of my own pages / templates now but I def recommend just playing around with their free ones to start and then you can get a feel for how you like to use it!!

I love this so much! Its so nice when opening a computer is FUN! I recently realized you can have tab groups and I'm utilizing a FUN group, and a Work Tab ( I mean work is fun too but ya know what I mean!) Used to have so much fun just working on a book for the fun of it, and its been TOO long since I've done that, needed this reminder!
